POSTED BY BRUNA

Phrasal verbs are special verbs present in the English language, which in most cases can not be translated literally (literally) into another language and that are formed from a verb with a preposition, an adverb or words of another grammatical class.

Are a peculiarity of English that make language more informal and are present in many situations, both in everyday situations and requiring a certain level of formality. They characterize the natural way of expressing a native speaker.

The verb get out, for example, is a phrasal verb, but its literal translation does not reveal its true meaning, or at least, is not acceptable in the English language. get means to receive or "get" out and out mean. To say that means get out get out is a big mistake and did not find support in the grammar of Portuguese. This reveals the complexity of these verbs and they can cause confusion.

The phrasal verbs are essential for speaking and understanding English, and therefore deserve dedication on the part of those who study the language.
